WHO AM I? AND The Treasure Box Interviews

Art can be used to explore human nature and our sense of identity. As part of the 2018 TAKEOVER OF PIQUET HOUSE IN THE ROYAL SQUARE TWO SPECIAL EXPERIENTIAL ART INSTALLATIONS investigate the notions of self-expression and belonging.

Who Am I? is an evolving art installation curated by Sarah Taylor, taking place at Piquet House as part of the Piquet House Takeover.

This project invites members of the public to create a life size collage of who they truly are, from the inside out. Using a range of mediums, including paint, pens, chalk, fabrics, vinyls, wallpapers etc, each individual will be drawn around on a large sheet of paper and is then invited to create their own multi-layered self portrait … an expression of who they feel they truly are.

This project is free to take part in and all ages are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult). No need to book, just come along and bring with you a sense of creativity and a willingness to explore the question: Who Am I?

Running daily between 10 am - 5pm from Saturday 23 June - Sunday 01 July at Piquet House, in the Royal Sqaure.

The Treasure Box Interviews is an evolving art installation curated by Sarah Taylor, taking place at Piquet House as part of the Piquet House Takeover.

Inspired by the BBC’s Listening Project, Sarah Taylor’s evolving art installationThe Treasure Box Interviews present an opportunity to listen to some of the island’s voices in a unique experiential art installation. Discover what riches can be found by listening to the stories of real people from our island, preserved in time in one of our 6 ’Treasure Boxes’, each representing a different local artist and a dialogue recorded in that person’s creative space.

This project is free to take part in and all ages are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult).

Running daily between 10 am - 5pm from Saturday 23 June - Sunday 01 July at Piquet House, in the Royal Sqaure.
