Katherine Cadin is a painter with a passion for vibrant colour and pattern. Her greek heritage strongly influences the colours and themes in her work, and a love of vintage textiles and folk art inform the intricate patterns in her paintings. Aboriginal art is a major influence from spending time living in Australia. These influences combine in a unique way which she applies to the subjects she paints, inspired from living by the sea and nature. The paint is applied in a sculptural way to create bold, beautiful and vibrant paintings which bring alive the subjects. he resulting paintings are tactile to the touch, and intricately detailed and individual. Many are exhibited on driftwood washed up on local beaches. Katherine will be showcasing her work at St. Catherine's Sailing Club, nestled in the beautiful St. Catherine's Bay on the water's edge.
