Skipton Open Studios celebrates the wealth of talented artists and makers in Jersey and is now in its eighth year. This popular Jersey event sees local artists open their studios or take up residence in unusual sites around the island. The public is invited to engage with artists, learn about their practice, and to purchase or commission work directly.
Artists open their studios to the public over the last weekend in June and the first weekend in July. It is a chance for public and artists to meet, to gain an insight into how and where the work is produced, together with the inspirations and techniques involved. Some of the artists will be showing together or exhibiting in Jersey Heritage and National Trust sites throughout the Island, many of which are not normally open to the public. Many of the Artists will be offering workshops at their studio sites, which you can find out details about on our Workshops page.
We are delighted to invite the public to a taster exhibition of the artists’ work at the CCA Galleries International, 10 Hill Street, between 16th June – 2nd July 2016.
New to 2016 there will also be a variety of community art events at The Lido, Havre des Pas, including outdoor film screenings and artist led workshops taking place on Saturday 18th June 2016 as part of Seaside Shenanigans. Tickets to evening BBQ and film screenings event via our eventbrite page.
